preliminary task (completed)

\\

this is our finished preliminary music which me , allan, and harry worked as a team and all had out separate roles to complete

Preliminary Roles

Jade (Me)
i am the most artistic out of the three of us, so i was in-charge of creating and designing the storyboard. after shareing with the rest of the group to get the basic idea of the video, i then drew the storyboard and labelled some of the frames with harry who also helped with writing the detail and specifics of each shot we did and how it would be filmed . While doing this i still played a part as an actor in the music video, Jade used the camera to film me. Again, she also doubled us as an actor for the video.

Allan
Out of the three of us in the group, Allan was the most skilled at using different computer programs and editing softwares. This is why we decided that he was perfect for the role of the editing of the video and making the final cut. Whilst the whole group worked together to get the ideas, he created the final products to make it flow and look good. Allan was also an actor due to the small group size.

Harry
Harry was mainly the camera man for filming our preliminary task as-well as framing shots , so the shots would line up later in editing done by Allan. the shots that would be used in the video by organising the lighting and the composition of the shots. Due to us being a small group, we had to double up with roles. For this reason, harry was also an actor in our music video.he also had the job of the labelling of the storyboard

preliminary problems

When editing we found that the video At the time of filming, we had a problem as we didn't have access to a tripod so the footage was a little shaky. When the footage was stabilised, it zoomed to close to the people in the screen.the footage kept moveing, so when allan was editing he couldn't keep the bodies and heads matched up. so then We then decided to change our plan. Rather than having the bodies switch with the heads, we used still close ups of use lip syncing the song with dramatic close ups of our faces for the instumentals. We also decided to switch between colour and black and white footage depending on whether the people were looking up and across or down. these gave it a great switch of feelings between the contrasting colours.

preliminary task research

Honey I'm Good
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Go7gn6dugu0
We like the idea of having multiple shots of various people lip syncing to the song rather than telling a meaningful story due to this being a smaller task and not being able to have the correct actors within the time.

A Team
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UAWcs5H-qgQ
We decided to pick A team by Ed Sheeran as the song to use for our music video. With the song being slow, it means we could use slow shots of dramatic close ups. We also liked the music video because of it being black and white which is an easily applied effect.

Caravan Of Love
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOgM8z0T-ss
We like the idea of being able to split the screen to show shots of more than one video at the same time. We want to be able to have the torso of one person with the head of another person lip syncing to the song. This was doable using iMovie and I had learned how to do it using online tutorials.
