Allans research (short films)

when we had our meeting the other day to share the research that we had been working on and presented it too the class, we did in order to show our different subjects in a way to show everything that we could possible achieve with each preliminary task as the following one i found to be more difficult to the abilities i have as am not that good at making short stories however i am good at camera angles and filming different ways.

harry's research (Film Trailers)

when we had our meeting the other day to share the research that we had been working on and presented it too the class, we did in order to show our different subjects in a way to show everything that we could possible achieve with each preliminary task as the following one i found to be a good preliminary for me as i think its very achievable and an interesting one to do. doable for my abilities as i have watched loads of film trailers i believe that i will be good at making a movie trailer

my choice

after doing my research into my brief into music videos i think that it is able for me to achieve something on the level of music videos i have looked at i believe that its able however i think i would be more suited to doing a film trailer as i have more interest in that and would be better for me giveen the resources i have and think i think its completely in my capabilities. now the only thing i have to decide on is what type on movie trailer and genre i want to achieve whether it be a horror, comedy, animation or romance as some of the examples that harry presented in his research.

my research into music videos

as part of my work i have researched music videos and what they mean and the different techniques that are used when creating and producing the final product we did this to find out what brief overall we would focus on and if we could do it as a group or individually.

Harry

here are the three briefs that we decided on researching on are own.

below are three briefs we decided research individually in depth as we believe these to be doable and achievable given the resources me have as well as they are briefs we found most interesting and that we most liked out of the given choices.

below is the OCR brief specification which we harry and allan looked through i narrow down are choices to 3 briefs that we knew would be achievable and doable with the resources that we have as we are only a small media class.

Preliminary Roles

Jade (Me)

i am the most artistic out of the three of us, so i was in-charge of creating and designing the storyboard. after shareing with the rest of the group to get the basic idea of the video, i then drew the storyboard and labelled some of the frames with harry who also helped with writing the detail and specifics of each shot we did and how it would be filmed . While doing this i still played a part as an actor in the music video, Jade used the camera to film me. Again, she also doubled us as an actor for the video.

Allan

Out of the three of us in the group, Allan was the most skilled at using different computer programs and editing softwares. This is why we decided that he was perfect for the role of the editing of the video and making the final cut. Whilst the whole group worked together to get the ideas, he created the final products to make it flow and look good. Allan was also an actor due to the small group size.

Harry 

Harry was mainly the camera man for filming our preliminary task as-well as framing shots , so the shots would line up later in editing done by Allan. the shots that would be used in the video by organising the lighting and the composition of the shots. Due to us being a small group, we had to double up with roles. For this reason, harry was also an actor in our music video.he also had the job of the labelling of the storyboard
